Went back to the topics I started with concerning the survey–there were no response but the survey complete number is rising. Also searched for otherwebsites that provide discussions about parenting. Post to the blog. Was here from 1130am to 1:00 pm.
Today I coded data from 9 to 2. from 9 to about 11:15 I worked on finishing up the first round of checking on the IM study. Finishing coder convo 3 and 4. Everything is looking better. Then we had our meeting and I was shown the other office. I got a good portion of the papers gone through, the boxes stacked by the sink are all shred. See you bright and early tomorrow!
Had a meeting with Dr. Lench and Alex at 1130 til about 1150am. Afterwards I came to the lab and browsed the internet for parent blogging/forum sites. I found parentsconnect.com, parenthoodplace.com, and families.com where I joined and posted our advertisement for the survey. Was here from 1150am-130pm.
Was here from 1230pm to 230pm. Input data for IM’s on subjects 248-260. Also found a blog/discussion board website dedicated to preteen’s that looks similar to myspace except dedicated to parents of teenagers (parentsconnect.com). Figured we could give this website a try to contacts since myspace does not seem to be producing many responses from the weekly contacts.
Was here from 330 to 500 plan. I continued to email more prospective survey takes and searched for another means to contact "normals" through other websites.
Was here from 1130 to 130pm–contacted several potential survey participants through myspace. Participants were found by searching "groups" catering to parents communicating to other parents about parenting issues. Unfortunately I found that no groups that we could use exist for parents of pre-teens.
Was here from 1130-130. Contacted several people for survey and completed data entry for 232-237. The blanks for 201- are conversations where time stamps were not applied to conversation.
