data
Good morning!! I am coding data today from 910-1210
Blog for Research Lab
So I forgot to blog Wednesday. Wednesday I ran experiments from 10:30-11:30. I believe all of my participants showed up. I ended on number on 128. Today I coded data from 8-9. I organized things in the room and then did the emotional elicitation videos. I watched Robin Williams live and also Divertimento #136. From 10:30-12:00 I ran experiments. All but two showed up, and all of them were girls. I’m excited to start the Moral Luck study next week.
Okay, so I think there are problems with the signing up. Yesterday, Tina had said that thre has been some overlap with studies and participants were (unknowingly) signing up for the same experiment. Up until today, I had not experienced this. All but two (out of my
participants said that they had done the experiemnt before. Is there a way to check prior to the study to see if there has been any overlap?
From 9am – 10am Tuesday, I ran the Jury experiment – all went well. Today (Wed), from 3pm – 6:30pm, I checked data for the facial coding and made note of necessary changes; I was able to finish 13 subjects.
Read about 30 abstracts today from 130-3. 22 Got tossed out, some because they weren’t in English. 7 were kept.
In the lab from 11:30-2:30. Coded 4 emotion elicitations that I needed to do. I posted a list of what Tina, Amisha, Thomas, and I need to be doing as far as emotion elicitations that we didn’t do last year. Received another contact from Dr. Paradiso- very accommodating and offered to help in the future if necessary. I updated the youtube account and searched for videos because several of the videos posted were no longer on youtube or were blocked now for some reason. Worked on contacting a few more authors of studies for some questions I have. Sent thank yous to those who did respond to questions I had.
I made up my missed coding hour today from 10:15-11:15. I checked 1173-1175 and found a few mistakes. It’s getting a lot easier to run through the data now. We may have to check more than 10% because we are finding quite a few mistakes.
