Marta’s Lab hours 2/17/10
I ran my studies from 10am-1pm because there was no one signed up for my 1-1:30 slot. There was an error in the blackjack game and many of my participants for confused. I marked it on my conditions/subject# form.

I ran my studies from 10am-1pm because there was no one signed up for my 1-1:30 slot. There was an error in the blackjack game and many of my participants for confused. I marked it on my conditions/subject# form.
Today I ran labs from 1:00-5:00pm. I started the new self/other study lab that included the essays.
It was an okay day. Nothing really happened except that the computer program had a problem viewing a certain image.
But that’s about it.
I also went to the lab meeting on Friday Feb. 12.
Last week I still entered data on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday after a minor setback from not correctly learning how to save the data the right way and had to enter a lot of it over again. Yesterday I came in from 3-6:30 entering more data.
since I am not running today I just did data entry for Moral Luck. I have almost finished with the file from the original format. I did data entry from 9-12 and 2-3.
On Friday, February 5, I went to the lab group meeting from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
On February 9th, I ran the Moral Luck study from 10am-12pm.
On February 10th, I did meta-analysis from 9am-10am and then ran the Moral Luck study from 1:30-3:30pm. One of the computers didn’t have the updated program, but luckily Shane stopped by and had a thumbdrive, so I was able to get it onto the middle room’s computer.
On February 11th, I did meta-analysis from 10am-12pm. With Jessica’s help, I realized that article #82 was about dispositional optimism, so I fixed the coding form. I also recoded article #45, because it had been coded as two studies for one experiment, when the paper only discussed one study.
Then on Friday I went to the lab group meeting from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
On Monday (2/8), i was sick so i did not come in for coding meta. On Wednesday (2/10) I ran my experiments from 10-1:30. On Friday (2/12) i came in an hour and a half early (10am) to make up for missing on Monday. I also came in an hour early last Friday so that completely makes up for my 2 1/2 hours missed on Monday. I continued coding meta until 12:30. I attended the weekly lab meeting as well.
2/5- ran the Moral Luck study from 8-10 then attended the group meeting from 12:30-1:30
2/8- worked on fixing meta-analysis articles from 1:50-2:50
2/10- ran the new Moral Luck study from 8-10, then worked on fixing meta-analysis articles from 1:50-2:50
I finished entering the first part of the Moral Luck lab other than all of the stories. I still have a few of those to do. I worked on those from 12-3 and then I left.
Today I coded data from 10:30am-1:30pm. I also helped Kim count words for her experiment.
2/3: I coded the articles for one hour.
2/4: I ran for the first time from 10am-2pm. Amisha observed the first time. Of the experiments that I’ve participated in I think this is the easiest to run. No seperate paperwork for different conditions! I think this experiment will be over quick though considering it’s being run 8 hours a week.
2/5: Another hour of coding. Several of the articles were coded that shouldn’t have been so I recoded them as rejects.
2/8: I coded again for an hour. I’m glad this semester there are more people in the lab and that our hours overlap some. We don’t waste time talking; it just helps to discuss the lab with others. I wish I didn’t have class during the lab meeting on Fridays.
I have a quiz Wednesday and a test Friday in my 11:30am class so I am going to code in the afternoons instead of my usual 9-10am so I will be able to prepare for class.
